POINT COMFORT, TX- Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. Texas employees raised a half million dollars for the United Way of the Crossroads and the United Way of Calhoun County. Each organization received a check for $250,000 in December 2022. This surpasses the amount Formosa Plastics raised the previous year by $100,000.

Bethany Castro, executive director of United Way of the Crossroads, said, “For the second year in a row, the Formosa team has outperformed themselves and smashed fundraising records. This HALF A MILLION dollars gifted to the United Ways will impact individuals in need through our nonprofit partner network.”

Charity Golf Tournament Chairman Mike Elgin spoke on behalf of the Formosa Plastics United Way Committee who planned the event. He said, “This year’s event, organized by a group of Formosa employees who have a love of giving back to their communities, was a huge success. We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support from the participants, sponsors, volunteers and donors. They continue to amaze me each year when they surpass their goal, especially during challenging economic times.”

With over 100 teams participating and the overwhelming support of many sponsors, last year’s event exceeded all expectations.
