LIVINGSTON, NJ- Due to the severe weather conditions affecting the southern United States, the Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. production facilities in Point Comfort, TX and Baton Rouge, LA continue to be temporarily shut down or operating at reduced capacity. This affects all olefins, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, caustic soda, and bleach products manufactured by Formosa.

Formosa is evaluating the impact of this shut down on each of our operating units. Priority is being given to restarting Utility plants to support power needs for local communities during this time of urgency. Any power and steam production from natural gas will be directed toward electrical support for the community and the safety of our complex until the current weather emergency subsides.

We are working diligently to restore our operations to their full capacity. Formosa Account Managers will be contacting customers directly with further updates as information becomes available.
